![]() I'm really excited to see where the net play ends up with SF5, and if I had to rate the netcode, as is, I think it's generally around the same level as P4AU and Smash Wii U, which are held up as some of the better online fighting games. Publishers Aurora Punks and Hello There Games, and developer Hello There Games have released Kung Fury: Street Rage downloadable content 'A Day at the Beach' for 5.99 for the PC version of the game. I happened to come across a player from Japan and I feel like this connection would have been unplayable in USF4, but in SF5, while not as good as the other sets, it felt decent enough to be playable. It's just that these times are much more rare now, and out of 10 online games, I only had a couple of instances where things got bad, but they smoothed out again. Things run pretty darn smooth now, but when the lag hits, you start seeing the other player skip around and the jittery animation starts up. I'm happy to report that even with a ton of people on, the 2nd SF5 beta runs even better than the first, and in my opinion - it's already better than Ultra Street Fighter 4's netcode, if they launched it today, as is. I thought the first Street Fighter 5 beta started out well, but when the masses starting hitting the servers, things seemed to get jittery, especially in the wake up game and footsie department, it became extremely difficult to react to moves.
